Helping a Neighbor

Dave was able to help a neighbor take out some bushes this June, 2010. I was able to cut them down, dig them out, and continue a relationship with my friend, Rick. As I reach out to Rick, I pray that God will reach his heart. He has heard the gospel -pray that God will save him and many other LDS friends, neighbors, associates, etc. For God so loved the world ... that includes the LDS ... "So send I you."

Teaching CPR to the Boy Scouts

Dave helped with the teaching of the CPR class for the Boy Scouts. No, I'm not pictured in either picture - I was taking them. Someone else had another camera. I may have one from them, but not at this time. Teaching cpr to the scouts has been fun and one way that I can be of service in the community once a year in a different way. As an EMT, I must get certified myself every two years. It is a reminder that I must be also actively and faithfully preparing myself to be a witness of the gospel.

Chris and Dannelle Kohn

Dave had the privilege of marrying this young couple. Dannelle was a part of our Teen Bible Study in Montpelier, Idaho. Our trip for this occasion in Boise, ID, took us through the area of Twin Falls where the picture of the bridge is located that is also posted on this blog.

Bridge over Twin Falls, Idaho

There's a great gulf fixed... Impossible to cross... Far greater than man could ever build a bridge over. God has purchased my way and has delivered me over to the other side. He gave me Salvation that I could never get or gain for myself. In one act of sacrifice, Jesus paid for my redemption. I was a sinner and deserved to die for my sin, but He paid for my sin. He died for me (Romans 5:8). All I had to do was place my trust, my life -in His hands.

"Salvation"

Didn’t deserve it
Couldn’t earn it
But my God has given me
Something special
Something awesome
It’s Salvation and it’s free

Didn’t deserve it
Couldn’t earn it
But my God has given me
Something special
Something awesome
It’s Salvation Full and Free.

Heaven's Nook

There’s a place in my parent’s old house
Where I used to hide away
When we played a game of “Hide and Seek”
At the ending of the day
I knew I would always still be found
Though I hid far out of sight
But I’m thinking of another nook
For waiting in tonight

For another boy loved “Hide and Seek”
And would make his brothers look
For their brother in that hiding place
In a simple closet nook
But they knew that they could find him
If they looked into that place
And a silly grin would light his eyes
As they saw his little face

I know somewhere up in heaven
There must be a little nook
Where a little fellow’s hunkered down
Like he used to with a book
He’s just waiting for his family
To come to heaven’s place
And see the twinkle in his eyes
As we gaze upon his face

For I’m sure that even in a nook
In heaven’s golden place
Jesus causes face there to shine
With God’s amazing Grace
So after my dear Father
Reads my name upon His book
I will look for someone special
In His blessed little nook.

I think I know just where
That little nook will be
And I think that I will see
Where there’s a special one for me.
For when we get there so close to God
And we’re sheltered in His place
In our tiny nook we’ll sit and look
At our blessed Savior’s face.
